I'm tired all the time, and heard that breathing the wrong way might have something to do with it. Am I breathing wrong? Are you breathing wrong, too?

Noses are meant for breathing - mouths are meant for eating.

Here are 6 reasons you should not be breathing through your mouth:

  1. Bad Breath
  2. Dry Mouth
  3. Gingevitis
  4. Tooth Cavities and tooth decay
  5. Throat and ear infections
  6. Low Oxygen concentration in the blood, associated to a higher risk of high blood pressure that can lead to heart attacks and strokes.

The nose also produces Nitric oxide which is a stimulant of the cardiovascular and immune system and it's super important.

Breathing is the only thing you can do completely consciously OR unconsciously. It's the only chance we have to influence the involuntary nervous system. Disturbances in the involuntary nervous system causes a great number chronic disease.
Involuntary System has 2 sides:

  1. the Sympathetic nervous system that 'revs things up' for emergencies in the 'fight or flight'
  2. the Parasympathetic nervous system which has the opposite effect, it calms you down

Both of these have to be in Balance. For most people the Sympathetic is always running way too high. All the stimulation in our environment, and stress.

Which is responsible for high blood pressure, circulatory problems, digestive problems.

So what works best to lower your stress?
